Frank Zappa

Welcome to the official UA-cam channel of Frank Zappa.
In his unprecedented and incredibly prolific career, Zappa released more than 60 groundbreaking albums during his lifetime, as a solo artist and with his bands, The Mothers of Invention and The Mothers. From the early primal psychedelic rock of The Mothers Of Invention’s 1966 debut album, Freak Out!, one of the earliest double albums in rock, to the jazz-rock fusion of 1969’s’s Hot Rats, to the experimental, envelope pushing of 1969’s Uncle Meat and 1971’s surrealistic film and soundtrack, 200 Motels, to the orchestral compositions of his later years, Zappa’s unrelentless artistic drive, pushed him into a dizzying array of musical worlds, never content to stay in one lane for very long.

Great guitar player, incredibly underrated, but every time I've ever seen him in an interview his arrogance is absolutely palpable, and extremely off-putting. It's clear he thought he was the greatest thing that ever happened to music, if not humanity, and everything and everyone was beneath him.
I love Frank Zappa! "Is that a real poncho or a Sears poncho?"
really is the same with any instrument. Look at Maynard Ferguson. Never the same solo.
sure but no need to be so smug
I too change my solos in every jam or show. Never play the same. I was lucky because my drummer understood me very well.
This is the difference between a musician and a player.
Cool guy miss him
Such sanely envidious of Who peoples Who meet this maker. Sounds so humild and sincere.
Shut up Ono, or get a good smacked face.
I’m Not a fan of his music, but no doubt, he was a genius musically!
This was before Bobby Beausoleil went to prison.
This should be placed in all encyclopaedias and dictionaries under “musical improvisation” term.
I know the man was a genius and the other musicians he played with, and I'm not a big fan of Zappa's compositions, but the man can skin it back a piss out of it, he can play the guitar like it was part of his body, check out some of his work, live, baby snakes
Frank Zappa is one of the only men to hold a masters in music
Savant genius a monster intellect gone too soon to the demon zodiac😢
Everything Frank Zappa ever said, not just here - was so original, thoughtful, and meaningful (to him subjectively as well ss the objective). He was so right about intuitive rhythm sections....its amazing to watch the spontaneous "big bang" of nee music appesr before you, played as tight as can be as if its existed someeherr else sbd they sre just a reciever for it, pulling it down from the clouds...ill take that over over-rehearsed runs of sweep picking and shredding "virtuosity" anyday
🤯
Drugs never did Frank Zappa
Great excuse for making shit music
Dude sure is full of himself
I'm technically too young to know about zappa but yet I knew it was him without seeing the channel name
You should get together w/Yoko Ono when her & John were playing with Chuck Berry & they cut her mic for screaming & in her mind she was singing like a virtuoso. You know? Kind of like your music?? I’ve been a musician for over 40+years & what you call music & what I call music is 2 completely different things & never the twain shall meet. For the record, Yes, “I made it”, to the big time in Nashville years ago. I’d still be there if it weren’t for the extremely hard life a musician leads or gets cut short from the drugs, booze & broads!
No offense Mr. Zappa but it sounds like you never know what or how your going to play every time I’ve the misfortune to listen to you & do what I think YOU call “Music”? Guys like you make it because of “nepotism”, because it sure as hell isn’t talent! I wouldn’t waste a broke-d-k dog on you, your CD’s, ITunes & damn sure wouldn’t pay good $$ to go to a concert of yours. Please, stop making us suffer through your journey of discovery because it isn’t working. Frank meet the guitar, guitar meet Frank & that’s as about as far as you ever get in your relationship with the “GUITAR”!
Too late Frank 😢
Wonder if Frank would have ever released this
Shut up and Play guitar! Epic at Ebbits Field Denver Colorado ❤❤❤ ❤
Is he an INFJ?
At last. Well said.
L E G E N D
This is what people mean with the statement "having a good ear."
todo genio en siu genialidad es humilde sin fanfarroneos....
Yeah… except he practiced the hell out of his solos and the bits and pieces he used to construct them. But hey… need to build that mystique!
Who is this is?
In TKansas City-When his song “Jellyroll gumdrop” was #1, Frank hired a marching band to play it on the main street. The song is from the Ruban & the Jets LP. This is a true story- look it up!

every jazz musician...yeah bruh we know.
I would've loved to see the Mothers in 67 or 68
Frankly, Frank was a genius.
Session players that made the cut called Zappa’s band “ boot camp. “
he was only average as a guitar player. early on he was more a precision player, later he just jams on vamps
Sober his whole life, and yet so many tweaker love this guy.
Genius
A different level
So well spoken, what a lovely guy
Franks a Dinnamo! Come on Frenchie, Snap It...😂
Real musicianship. Love music, and trust yourself.
No offense, but he’s no Charlie Parker. Too arrogant.
Saw you standing in line Jim cool.
